'Wild Fire' was created to honor the spirit that lives within nature and the power of rebirth after fire. Revered by our indigenous people, the white Cockatoo represents the element of fire and their role in landscape regeneration. They are thought to understand deeply the nature of life and death.
The ‘Lady’ of all creatures, Mother Mary upon reflection connected my subjects as a shrine or Altar. Symbolic of a higher power at play. A representation of the salvation of humankind and regeneration of the body. Devine Motherhood, Devine mother nature. The power of resurrection, deserving of Respect.
My plants selections relate in some way to the process of regeneration through fire and healing. Eucalypt lignotubers growing new shoots. Banksia pods bursting in fire to drop seeds. Fire Orchids only to bloom after fire. Fire symbolic through strength in colour. The ‘Bush Diamond’ kangaroo Paw used in traditional medicine as a healing tool.
I just wanted to acknowledge hope, which comes from honoring the Flora and Fauna we live with. Take a moment of appreciation at the power in natures spirit to resurrect our beautiful country after devastation.
